It was an honor to be inducted in the Massachusetts Country Music Hall of Fame this week. It honors the decade I spent with my group, Wheatstraw, in the 1970's. It was an adventure to discover the true American soul in the best of the genre - the high lonesome of Hank Williams, the gravel of Merle Haggard, the heartbreak of Tammy Wynette. Their voices move me still.
